A Sign for the Times

A special shout-out goes to Ed of You Can't Fix Stupid for this stupendous sign that he made for me. I hosted a lasagna dinner for his team Saturday night at Hornswylde Mansion. They were one of the winning teams from Bube's Suddenly September trivia contest. The other two winning teams will be at the manor this Sunday. Hopefully I will have perfected the recipe by then. I had switched to a different sauce and the dish had come out soupier than normal.

Chuckles: Floam!

Team Chamo couldn't bring Chamo along, so they created a voodoo rep;ica of him out of their gift from the Trashbag of Deelite: Floam! It's a sculpting material that looks like the love child of playdough and dipping dots. Their team came in ninth, right behind the Twin Roses. Seventh place and theme choice went to Team C.H.U.D., who are going with Futurama, which should please We Can Win...With Tickets Sicne Nixon's Back Bahroo! to no end. Clowns McNutty also tied for seventh, one point behind Skirtland. There was a tie between the new grandparent Zombies and Prius for fourth. Ubersmack was looking for some camouflage to hide, since they fell from first to third. Out of the Vortex, meanwhile recovered from a bad picture round to take home the silver, but they were nine points behind Of Pixe Stix and Whirlygigs.

Tim traded one quartet of a pitcher of Pabst (approximate value: $2.00) for the Twin Roses' turkey baster (approximate value: $1.00)

VFW: Things That Make You Say Awwwwwww!

Darla of sixth place We're Here for the Beer finally got to see her teammate Don's fuzzy thing on an exciting night of gameplay. Defending champs Chicks and Dicks had a commanding finish and placed first. Some favorites crashed and burned on the last round, but Tom G'Nat and T rose to the occasion and placed second, followed by the Alice team. Mixed Company mixed up their dates and came in fourth, with Room Two right behind. Frank's teammates left him in the lurch, but he ended up with theme choice for next week: computer acronyms.

Congrats also to our grand prize winners of free turkeys from Stouffer's: Mixed Company and Alice in Wonderland. And special thanks to Bonnie Powers for providing the vouchers!
Trish, Nat and Tom merged together to form a new superteam of Tom G'Nat and T and took home second place!

Bube's: Nutsack Rising

The Four Nutsacks of the Apocalypse added a fifth and had a commanding victory tonight. I had been concerned about the 'sacks, who are usually formidable opponents. They hadn't placed for several weeks (maybe a month?), but tonight they clenched together and came out on top in a climactic night of trivia.
The Toxic Olives, who normally play every other week, made a rare off-week appearance, attempting to defend their crown. They settled for the silver.
Tonight's bronzers: The Tony Danza Slap!
Birthday boy Dale is getting it from both sides!
Soooo close! You Can't Fix Stupid had a fatal cross-out, costing them third place.
Puff n Suds went slumming to the other end of the bar tonight.
Captain Jack made some new friends, courtesy of Puff N Suds.
Team Braindead, just like they did two weeks ago, came in seventh. They were the ones who chose trucks. Keeping it motorhead, they're going with American muscle cars.
Ryan recruited She Who Shall Not Be Named as his partner to form Team Raising the Bar.
