The dynamic duo of Terry and Bitsy, AKA Too Loose, almost placed third.

Her teammates were delighted that Kim finally showed up for her birthday serenade.

VFW: Taxing Your Brain

Giggles and Friends attribute their winning streak to the addition of Mike to their team. They won a special Tax night of trivia, six points ahead of Chicks and Dicks. Babozulanobon got the bronze.

Ginny is overcome by emotion as Chicks and Dicks win the silver.

Knowing these guys, I'm afraid to look up what Babozulanobon means.

Doug gives Cheryl some love as their Dorks team took fourth.

We're Here for the Beer had a fantastic fourth, getting 8 out of 10 right.

Tied for fifth, Greg and Jean were looking forward to the post-show Little Feat concert.

The B52s were tied for seventh and they are going with flowers as their theme choice.

Take Anyone's Xtra EarningS was also in seventh. To counteract the sweetness of flowers, they are going with serial killers as their theme choice, since apparently Laurie is an expert in that subject. Hmmmm.....

The Four H's were hoping for fourth.

Chris named his team the Voice of the Phightins in honor of Harry.

D & M, otherwise known as Dennis and the Dark One (a little Greek humor there).

Frank and Nick refused to be in this team shot, since their name was In Love.

Bube's: Precipitation Tuesday

Soggy weather and the cold did not keep the teams away, as we had a fantastic night of trivia. The Cogitators (above) came from behind the wrest first place from Linuscratchitt. The 'Sacks were third, followed by the Toxic Olives, Ma Barker's Posse and a tie for sixth between Twilight Sucks and Cheating Is Not Good! Like Pop Rocks I Fizz in Your Mouth get to chose next week's theme: New Zealand.

Twilight Sucks may have come in sixth, but they cleaned up in Trashbag of Deelite prizes. Not only did they win the grand prize of Oreo cookies, but they also won an assortment of fake mustaches. They are sporting two of the jauntier ones.

Summon Our Greatness by Standing in Front of a Mirror Saying Nutsack, Nutsack, Nutsack. 'Nuff said.

The Toxic Olives needed one more point to put them in the money slots.

Dani and Mike made a return appearance after a short sabbatical.

You Can't Fix Stupid is applying for a trademark for The Fourth Round Crash-and-Burn™. At least they have some collard greens to take home.

Team Matilda, visiting from New York, had a great time.

Ma Barker's Posse got the warmest seat in the house.

Brent didn't know the hockey question, but he did know that he got the best prize from the Trashbag of Deelite: a cowboy-themed bowling ball bag/purse.

Turns out that Like Pop Rocks I Fizz in Your Mouth were last week's seventh placers, too. They had left their theme choice on their napkin, but the super-efficient Bube's staff had whisked it away.

Linuscratchitt said they'll be back with the warmer weather.

The Wu-Tang Killah Bees will never forget Harry Kallas.

Chuckles: A Hoppy Easter

The Twin Roses found a special guest in their Easter basket: Rick and Marie's son Josh, who helped them ace the bunny picture round. In fact, they led every round. Fun Size Ubersmack was second, while Skirtland was in third. The Screaming eagles were right behind, followed by Three Roads and the Miami Blades. Greg and Jean once again get to pick the theme, and this time Jean got to pick, so they are going with art materials.

The Department of Redundancy Department left behind their salmon and sweet potato dog treats.

Team Princess held down their end of the bar.

The Zombies brought along some family members and masqueraded as the Screaming Eagles.

Welcome back to the Alcoholics Autonomous!

Team Phoenix was new to the game, but still beat five teams.

Oh, B-Gosh Bag-Gorrah!

Tom Miller of Team Discovery Channel was recently featured in a New Era article about his bagpipe band. You may have heard him perform after the trivia show at Bube's. You can read the online version here.

VFW: Stand By Your Beer

The Italian Aftershocks are apparently big fans of country music as they pulled off a last round upset to win the gold. Either that, or Miller Lite fueled their brain cells. Trivia @ 8 featuring sugar junkie Dick was second and K-B finally had a good night and placed third. The Brooklyn Dodgers were oh-so-close in fourth followed by a tie for fifth between Chicks and Dicks and the B52s. Theme choice goes to Laurie Morgan, Trisha Yearwood and Natalie Mains and they are celebrating April 15th with taxes.

Bube's: The Cult of Snuggie!

No, we're not in Rio de Janiero, that is just Steve modelling tonight's grand prize: a royal blue Snuggie. It was As Seen on TV night and I gave away the backwards robe at the finale. I also found out that it's not the most mobile garment as I attempted to wear it during the first round. Steve's team came in third, right behind You Can't Fix Stupid and the Toxic Olives. Hold Me Closer Tiny Danza was only one question behind, followed by Quietly Making Noise and the Hot Richards. Our seventh place team Tony I'm Feeling Skinny bolted before picking a theme, so it will be host's choice next week. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!

You Can't Fix Stupid celebrated their highest placing ever. And they only missed first by one question!

The Toxic Olives had a most excellent night, thanks to Becky's lucky purple elephant watering can.

Quietly Making Noise is despondent that they didn't make it two in a row. Everyone but Vanessa, that is. She enjoys losing.

The Hot Richards told me to look up their name in an urban dictionary, but I have a feeling it's NSFW.

Recommended: Carmen & David's Creamery

Sunday afternoon I stopped at Carmen & David's Creamery, a new ice cream shop on Prince Street between Orange and King. (It's diagonally across the street from the Fulton Opera, where the Purple Mug used to be). Their ice cream is fantastic and all made on the premises. I had two scoops of German Chocolate Cake. I couldn't locate a website, but here's a link to a Flickr photostream. Two spoons up!

Chuckles: Skirt Gets In Your Eyes

A Ben-less Skirtland doo-wopped the competition, with a six point lead over Of Pixie Stix and Whirlygigs. Three Roads continued their winning streak, placing third, one question ahead of the ever-improving Don't Wops. The Twin Roses were fifth and the Zombies sixth (Thanks again for the extra Trashbag prize!). That gives theme choice to Prius, who are going with Little Feat as Easter Sunday's theme next week.

The Miami Blades were in a celebratory mood.

VFW: Matt's Best Friend

Matt displays the only non-edible item from tonight's Trashbag of Deelite: an argyle Snoopy pillow. He can use it after the exhausting last round. When the smoke cleared, his team, The Occasional Acid Flashback, was the clear winner. Giggles and Friends was 12 points behind, followed by the B-52s. We're Here for the Beer was once again doomed to fourth while the outrageous Trivia @ 8 placed fifth. K&B managed sixth while Chicks and Dicks are next week's theme pickers. They're going with country music.
